Alexandra Ballet will be part of the Polish American Cultural Society’s annual gala ball. Proceeds from this event benefit the Polish American Cultural Society’s Arts and Education Foundation and the Stan Musial Scholarship Fund. The company will perform an excerpt from Giselle.

Perfect for all ages, this one hour ballet, narrated by Ann Marie Ruhlin, was created especially for families. Make this charming production the beginning of a great holiday tradition! The talented dancers of Alexandra Ballet will present this masterpiece of the Romantic Era at the Blanche M. Touhill Performing Arts Center. This poignant story is about an innocent peasant girl who grants protection and mercy to the man who betrays her. Music by Adolphe Adam and restaging by internationally-renowned choreographer Marek Cholewa. Performing the feature role of Giselle will be Alexandra Ballet Alumna Georgia Reed. Special guest artist Brian Grant will dance the role of Albrecht.

This special evening begins with a meet-and-greet with scores of Alexandra Ballet alumni from around the world. Enjoy drinks and hors d’oeuvres, then watch the debut screening of the documentary tribute, “Miss A. The Gift of Grace: A Documentary” chronicling her incredible journey to this career milestone, featuring photos and interviews with many of her former students, dancers and colleagues, followed by Alexandra Ballet’s endearing performance of Giselle. Spring Repertory Program
Alexandra School of Ballet Studios, Chesterfield, Missouri

Alexandra Ballet Company presents an abundance of entertainment for the Spring Repertory Program. La Bayadère (The Palace Garden) is an exotic classic with music by Ludwig Minkus and choreography by Marius Petipa, restaged by CiCi Houston. The whimsical Origami is choreographed by the late Kevin Milam and re-staged by Norma Gabriel with music from Carnival of the Animals. This performance also will premiere a contemporary work choreographed by Alexandra Ballet Alumni Dillon Malinski (now with Kansas City Ballet) set to music by Antonio Vivaldi.

The 16th Annual St. Louis Dance Festival
Edison Theater, St. Louis Missori
The Festival is presented by Dances of India and provides an opportunity to catch a glimpse of the thriving and diverse dance presence in metropolitan St. Louis– all in one weekend. Various dance companies will share the stage at Edison Theatre, each presenting a particular piece that is illustrative of that group’s artistic approach to dance – and a few of the groups have created new works just for this occasion.

Tickets $25 at the door, $20 in advance.
